you know, as hard as i try, i just don't get this scene kids thing. those two are trying to be scene kids, right? it's like that Kiki Kannibal they worship. she's like a Barbie beach doll when she's not being a scene kid.

who could be FUCKED to spend hours on their fucking hair like that? ok, i admit i've spent an hour plus in the not so distant past backcombing & working on my hair, but that just looks shit to me.

I think we *are* getting old, Abcess. I remember skinny jeans and using egg whites(!) to obtain "bigger than thou" hair back in the day. The whole "scene" thing is like my wardrobe of 1989 talking back to me, but it's cute in a campy, retro "knowing" fashion. I couldn't expend a fraction of the energy I used to in getting my hair "just so".

i think i despise how EASY they can find products to use these days. like back in the day there was like, hair gel & there was Insette hair spray. for colours i had to go miles to get a tub of Directions. we had to hunt down bits n pieces, like studded belts (lolz), & NOW - hair products - waxes, glue, gels, putty, etc etc... shelves of the shit & same with the bits n pieces.

if you were a girl & you had a tattoo in 1985 it was GASP! YOU MUST BE A LESBIAN & now that doesn't even cross anyone's mind...same with nose piercings. people thought you were a thieving drug addict no mark. it was haaaard to be different.

these kids don't understand what we went through to make their crazy hair dos acceptable. THATS why they piss me off

You didn't have the plethora of styling products in the late 70's and early 80's that are readily available today. You had gloopy hair gel, hairsprays, waxes and pomades but texturising products were still in their infancy. On dry hair, egg whites were the perfect consistency to get gravity defying volume. It made your hair "crunchy" but aesthetically, it was the shizznit in terms of gloss & hold.

there's just something not right about a blonde having a really heavy tan. plus, on Ms Hilton, her neck & chest look like nothing more than fried skin. i like pale skin, although there's something attractive about a healthy glow. over tanning though - why do they think it looks good?
