April 6th: is KR down again?

^ ikr? I'm off just now too. But it's not so much that as it is the fact that it's basically down on a monthly (sometimes more frequent) basis and so the odds are just pretty fucking high that's it's not gonna be working when any given person wants it to be...

And yeah, it really does seem otherwise. I can't even remember the last time she posted anything? I realise she has all her other endeavours that actually make her money and KR is low on the priority list for fun or work, understandably so, but it's at the point where she's probably not involved in any way apart from administering the income and expenses of it, in other words nothing more than paying a server bill when it gets emailed to her or whatever. If she's past dealing with it, I don't see why she can't "pass the torch" to someone else with a bit of passion and drive to make good of the site like was always talked about. I know it'd probably go hideously wrong if that did happen, but at least we'd be seeing something going on.

Anyway, I'll stop blethering.

I think you're absolutely correct on this, if she's for all intents and purposes just paying the bills when they're forwarded to her, Brooke can hardly be described as "hands on", can she? The thing is, will this hiatus be temporary until she decides what to ultimately do regarding KR? It doesn't seem fair if the situation is in permanent limbo, and KR seeming to experiencing the menses on a monthly basis - people ARE paying subs and it's only fair there should be accountability when KR goes tits up. OK, once in a BLUE MOON, I understand, it's teh netz, shit like this is bound to happen, but almost every month? The situation's a bit ridic now.

it's going to rain the rest of the week according to bbc. i check the five day forecast every day. it's only just occurred to me i don't need to do that.

Hi Carla! My mini ceramic hair straightening iron arrived in the post today, it's are THIS shade of "adorable" - red and black leopard print and goes from 0-220 celsius in TEN seconds. I need the iron because I have a spazzy fringe that, no matter how much I blow dry it straight, does this "Farrah Fawcett" flick at the ends.

Champs I burnt my forehead with my ghd's yesterday. i have an attractive angry red line just above my right eye now. and i get spazzy fringe too. i keep trying to grow it out, but it gets to a certain length and then even straighteners can't control the flicky ends.

Ouch! Precisely the reason I haven't used it yet, in theory I know how to use them (my hairdresser gave me a tutorial), but the very first time I'm not going to rush it!

But as for what mambo said...

I know there's rich people on KR but I don't know if they're as rich as brooke nor do I think they're as generous. Not to side with brooke on anything... but I do know the website costs a bit (though with some revenue as far as ads and subs are concerned and for the decreasing popularity, I don't think as much as it used to be)... and I do think she pays for most of it from hr trustfund

As much as I would feel sad to see the site go after all these years, I also kind of feel like maybe Brooke shouldn't be paying for it anymore. I mean, I would understand if she didn't want to anymore. Perhaps someone else can take over, as someone else suggested. The issue is again money.

i assume that's the case, it would just be nice if she would be open about it

i mean it doesnt get that much traffic, so the hosting stuff can't cost as much as it used to?
